TESTING, BEHAVIOR, AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

 

DR. LISA WALSH

 

Dr. Lisa Walsh is a licensed clinical psychotherapist and founder of ABPS. Dr. Lisa earned her undergraduate degree from Baker University and a doctorate degree in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas. She did her psychology internship and post-doctoral fellowship training at the Center for Child Health and Development at the University of Kansas Medical Center under the Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) training program to become specialized in autism and related disorders. During her training, she participated in multiple clinics including the feeding clinic, cleft lip/cleft palate, cystic fibrosis, and behavior clinic. In addition, she assisted in developmental and autism spectrum disorder diagnostic clinics. Following this, Dr. Lisa worked in the Leavenworth County Special Education Cooperative as a Behavior Specialist. She was also employed by ACI Learning Centers as a psychologist to conduct ADHD and autism assessments and provide individual and family psychotherapy. She also earned her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral.

 

Prior to her interest and work with families and individuals with developmental, behavioral, and autism spectrum disorders, Dr. Lisa served as the director of the Strategic Learning Center in Lawrence, KS, working with students with social and learning challenges. Additionally, she has researched and developed materials and procedures that address the social, academic, and learning needs of those groups. Dr. Lisa is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, the American Psychological Association, the Kansas Psychological Association, and serves on the board of the Greater Kansas City Psychological Association. She is also a Certified Autism Specialist.  

Dr. Lisa has expanded her services to not just work with children, but also with teenagers and adults to treat the majority mental health needs.
